At BMC, the detail-oriented HR Compliance Specialist is responsible for field compliance with all HR and labor related requirements. Major areas of compliance include, but are not limited to, wage and hour compliance, time keeping compliance, federal/state and local labor law and posting requirements.

Major Responsibilities:

* Act as subject matter expert in HR polices, practices and laws; primarily wage and hour, timekeeping, and federal/state/local labor laws. * Coordinates and conducts weekly audits on associate time-cards to ensure they are complete, accurate and submitted timely. * Travel to job sites/locations in the local market to interview associates regarding any concerns they may have with their timekeeping, breaks, paychecks, safety, etc. * Answer routine questions related to HR subjects. * Maintain training records and prepare documents necessary for HR compliance. * Provide periodic training to associates/managers regarding HR policies, practices, and laws. * Partners with appropriate parties to report and correct any compliance concerns in a timely fashion. * Provide periodic updates to management. * Demonstrate a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement. * Identify and respond actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers. * Participate as a team player in all phases of the organization. * Open and responsive to change. * Provides customers with knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt service at all times. * Comply with all Company policies and procedures. * Adhere to the Company's safety standards and enforce safety regulations. * May also be responsible for general HR duties as assigned by the HR Manager.

Required Skills

* Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. * Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. * Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. * Must be able to speak and understand Spanish. * Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and to the general public. * Strong Excel capabilities (calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, and overtime). * Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. * Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. * PHR or HR related certification preferred. * Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. * Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and email software.

Required Experience

* Minimum Experience: At least 2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
