Job Description:
Will provide complete mechanical, electrical and software design
for custom automated machines and will support operations to assure a quality product is produced in a timely
manner. Will work with multiple departments such as Lean Leadership, Operations, Quality Assurance, R&D,
Procurement, and Regulatory Affairs to improve existing product manufacturing equipment and processes to increase
throughput, decrease operational costs, or improve quality. Will collaborate with project manager, mechanical
design engineer, and software group to develop a low-risk and robust machine design. Will also program all software for
unique projects with a variety of needs (PLC, HMI/SCADA, Servo, Robotics, Vision, Laser, etc.). In addition,
will provide improvement and sustaining engineering support for existing production lines as well as use automated
solutions to develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing and inspection processes and procedures. Will also
support and perform equipment, process validations and testing to internal procedures. Will provide
process development engineering support for new product development projects. Additionally, will initiate equipment
modifications to improve productivity and product quality as well as work with outside vendors to coordinate the
development of manufacturing equipment. Will work closely with maintenance department to improve machine
reliability/reduce downtime and define equipment maintenance requirements. Will also assist with procurement, resolving
issues with suppliers, repairing equipment and tooling, and performing process failure mode effects analyses. In addition,
will work with Operations and outside vendors to create methods and process to improve capacities with production. Will
document cost savings and work with management to establish project timeliness, project justification, and
budget forecasts. Will also act as resource for operational departments for materials, equipment and process upgrades. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in
Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related degree plus six years of experience in
a custom automation and controls engineering role within a manufacturing domain. Skill Requirements: Six (6) years of progressive experience utilizing PLC/HMI
programming for automated equipment, developing custom automation for manufacturing, developing PC based applications
(Visual Basic, C++), developing Vision Systems, utilizing pneumatic components design in equipment and utilizing
