Job Description:

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide administrative and functional support to the areas of human resources, payroll and benefits in compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following: - Assists with the onboarding process by reviewing resumes/applications, interviewing, background checks, preparing written and/or verbal offers of employment and scheduling pre-employment exams. Prepare new hire packets and conduct new hire orientations. - Use the HRIS software to enter changes, process reports and to look up data for preparing VOE's, benefit audits or any other agency request. - Access the Time & Attendance software to enter employee leave of absence data, to audit and review employee time records and run audit reports, etc. - Point of contact for employee leave of absence process. Will maintain LOA records according to federal and state regulations, prepare forms for employee to complete and follow up with required paperwork. Also will be responsible for the Direct Billing process and will need to collect monthly payments from employees on leave. - Administer Worker's Compensation claim reporting and auto liability claims, providing information to injured worker, management and online claim submittal. Liaison for worker's comp claims management service. Prepare OSHA 300 and 300A for each business location - MSHA quarterly mine production hours reports and injury reporting - Responsible for preparing the Certified Payroll Reports as needed for prevailing wage jobs and entering the data into the Dept of Industrial Relations website within the time frame required by law. - Manage Dept of Transportation (DOT) employee files for commercial drivers, keeping all records up to date and compliant. - Assist with company benefit enrollments and training as needed. - Maintain employee files in accordance with state and federal laws. Retain records in accordance with record retention laws. - Provide customer service to employees with questions/concerns and direct them to appropriate resources. - Excel and ad-hoc reporting as needed - Performs additional job related duties and responsibilities as requestedSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESN/AQUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Strong written and interpersonal communication skills required. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to vendors and employees of the organization. Must be able to effectively and professionally interact with employees at all levels of the organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.REASONING ABILITYAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to plan and organize work to meet deadlines, coordinating with others when necessary.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSCurrent drivers license with acceptable driving record according to Driver Policy.PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
