The Labor and Delivery Technician plays a crucial role in supporting the healthcare team during the labor and delivery process. This position involves assisting with patient care, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for mothers and newborns, and facilitating the movement of necessary equipment and supplies. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to perform physical tasks associated with the role. Responsibilities Assist healthcare professionals in monitoring patients during labor and delivery. Prepare and maintain delivery rooms, ensuring all necessary equipment is available and functional. Support patients by providing comfort measures and addressing their needs during labor. Transport patients, equipment, and supplies as needed within the facility. Perform heavy lifting tasks related to moving equipment or assisting with patient transfers. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas in compliance with health regulations. Document patient information accurately in electronic health records as required. Skills Proficiency in commercial driving, including experience with manual transmission vehicles. Ability to operate box trucks or vans for transporting medical supplies or equipment. Experience with heavy lifting techniques to safely move patients or equipment. Knowledge of using pallet jacks for moving goods within a warehouse setting. Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on attention to detail. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare staff. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism.
